Junkyard and Scrapyard For the start of Colin Baker's first full season as the Doctor, filming for the Earthbound sequences in Attack of the Cybermen took place at the end of May and beginning of June 1984 at locations in Acton and Hammersmith. |

![]() Becklow Road, Acton. The TARDIS materialises in this junkyard and the Doctor later discovers it to be 76 Totter's Lane, where the TARDIS was seen in the very first episode of Doctor Who in 1963 (although that was a studio set rather than location filming). |

Lytton and his gang enter the sewers through a car inspection pit inside this scrap metal yard; the TARDIS materialises here, disguised as a pipe organ; and the Doctor and Peri are confronted by two armed 'policeman' as they investigate. Since this picture was taken, the walls, entrance gates and house on the left have been altered. |

For Davis Road exit Shepherd's Bush station on Uxbridge Road. Turn right and walk along Uxbridge Road for just under a mile (1.5Km) to the turning with Davis Road on the left. Walk along here, cross Valetta Road and continue on Davis Road. The alleyway is on the right. Becklow Road can be reached from here. At the end of Davis Road turn left into Jeddo Road. At the end of Jeddo Road, turn right into St Elmo Road then right into Becklow Road. Continue along here to where the road curves round to join Cobbold Road. The junkyard site is on the left at this junction. For Glenthorne Road the nearest London Underground station is Hammersmith. Exit onto Beadon Road and turn right. Continue along here to the junction with Glenthorne Road. UIP House is on the left at the junction. Birkbeck Road is near Acton Town Hall. The nearest rail station is Acton Central. Exit the station on East Churchfield Road and turn left. Birkbeck Road is the first turning on the left. The scrapyard is on the left-hand side. |
